House and Senate members agreed early Tuesday to a version of a bill requiring 30 minutes of daily exercise to help address childhood obesity. It could soon be headed to the governor’s desk. House Bill 1069 directs school districts to make sure students are getting exercise, whether it’s during recess, physical education classes or field trips.
The full House and Senate still must take formal votes on the agreement. Then it heads to Gov. John Hickenlooper, who has 10 days to sign or veto it.
