The National Physical Activity Plan (NPAP) has established national implementation priorities in a new digital report, Make the Move, which provides an outline of short-term and long-term goals to implement policies, programs and initiatives to get more Americans moving. The report was developed by the National Coalition for Promoting Physical Activity (NCPPA).

Americans can join the movement with [Organization name] to influence daily physical activity in schools, early childcare, parks and recreation, worksites, health care and neighborhoods.  Make the Move is helping to make the goal of NPAP a reality.

NCPPA President Laurie Whitsel states: “This is a great opportunity to begin collecting all of the exciting stories about the ways organizations, communities, and passionate advocates are making the National Physical Activity Plan a reality and hearing how people across the U.S. are making physical activity a regular part of their day.”

States across the country have already started to Make the Move and have success stories proving their accomplishments. Arizona State is now home to four nurse clinics that discuss patients’ level of physical activity and help them meet the federal guidelines. Also, the Pennsylvania State Board of Education mandates physical activity and nutritional standards for the commonwealth’s public schools.
